

Gary is an experienced food professional having worked in the
technical, manufacturing and marketing areas of the Food and
Foodservice industry. He provides food safety, quality assurance,
risk assessment, audit planning, crisis planning and product and
strategic planning assistance to his clients on a worldwide basis.
Prior to his current position, he held senior level positions with
Wal-Mart, Foster Farms and Tasty Baking Company as well as
with Arthur D. Little (ADL) and Technomic. He has also been a
principal with Marketing Spectrum and Technical Food
Information Spectrum (TFIS).
Gary is a member of numerous organizations and serves on advisory
committees such as the National Advisory Committee on Microbiological
Criteria for Foods (NACMCF), the Conference for Food Protection and Food Quality magazine.
He is also an Adjunct Professor and Instructor at the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health, Public Health Institute.
Gary has recently been named Secretariat for Safe Supply of Affordable Food Everywhere (SSAFE). SSAFE is a not-for-profit global organization that establishes platforms for public-private partnerships to address issues regarding Harmonization of Standards, Capacity Building and Sustainability. This includes animal issues, agricultural products, fisheries/aquaculture and water.
